Our client, based in Gloucestershire, is currently recruiting for a Housing Options Officer on a 3-month temporary contract with the opportunity to be extended
The position is due to start ASAP, and is ideally looking for applicants who will attend the office 1-2 days per week - however may be able to work on a fully remote basis if experience can be demonstrated.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with homelessness legislation, and priority homeless decision-making.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Interview applicants and assess their housing needs in line with homelessness legislation.
- Create and manage Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs) to prevent or relieve homelessness.
- Make homelessness decisions by assessing priority need, eligibility, intentionality, and local connection.
- Arrange and monitor temporary accommodation to ensure it is suitable and safe.
- Provide advice on housing options including social housing, private renting, and support services.
- Maintain accurate case records and issue legal notices/letters in line with the Housing Act and Homelessness Reduction Act
Experience required:
- Experience working within a Local Authority
- Experience of homeless duty/section 184 decision making
Working hours:
- 37 hours per week
- 5 days a week
- Ideally 1-2 days in Gloucestershire based office, considering remote work for experienced candidates
