Job description
Our client, a local authority based in Essex, is currently recruiting for Housing Disrepair Lawyer on a 6-month temporary contract.
The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The hourly rate is c.55UMB but can be negotiable based on experience for this position.
The ideal candidate will be immediately available and have previous experience in the housing sector or with other local authorities.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Dealing with a high number of complex caseloads, with potential for sensitive legal cases made up of contentious and non-contentious matters
Managing predominately disrepair matters, working closely alongside the second member of the team
Providing legal representation for the organisation and act as professional legal advocate in courts and tribunals
Preparing legal documentation including particulars of claim, schedules of disrepair, witness statements, and settlement agreements
Advising clients on their legal rights under housing legislation and tenancy agreements
Skills and Experience required:
Experience within the housing sector
