Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a Local Government based in Surrey, who are recruiting for a Building Surveyor on a temporary four-month contract.
The position is due to start immediately and can offer a daily rate of pay of £379.24 per day via an umbrella company.
The ideal candidate will have worked in a similar role recently, ideally within Social Housing.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Undertaking surveys including preparing the necessary drawings, schedules of work and/or rates, specifications, bills of quantities, schedules of dilapidation, party wall awards, safety plans and all other documentation
Ensuring that all works and professional services carried out in connection with the survey, repair, maintenance and improvement of property for which the Council is responsible is in accordance with accepted best practice
Remaining aware of current regulations and standards relating to construction work and ensure they are adhered to
Providing general support and advice as required to others in the Council and technical/professional input to other teams relating to building and associated work, and to assist with the delivery of repairs, maintenance and improvement works in which the service unit is involved
Monitoring standards of workmanship on site and contractor performance to ensure that a good standard of product and client satisfaction is achieved and maintained including defect identification and rectification
Experience required:
Experience required in Social Housing
Experience working as a Building Surveyor

Able to offer hybrid working – four days on-site, one day remote
Working hours:
37.5 hours per week
Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
