Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority based in Nottinghamshire, who are recruiting for a Senior Technical Officer on a temporary six-month contract. The position is due to start immediately. The hourly rate of pay is £30-£35 per hour on an umbrella basis, dependent on experience.

The ideal candidate will have HHSRS experience and a strong background in surveying in the public sector.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing two members of staff which includes Technical Officers, ensuring they’re meeting expectations and carrying out their work to the highest standard

  • Ensuring you are the first point of call for all technical enquiries either internally or externally

  • Supporting the delivery of high-quality work and the effective monitoring and managing of the performance and on-site progress of contractors to ensure works are delivered to the required quality standard, on time and to budget

  • Managing the day to day planned works programmes including windows and doors

  • Completing evaluations of programmes and conducting monthly reporting

  • Completing reports and findings on any compliance of programmes i.e., heating and electrical

Experience required:

  • Experience required in Social Housing

  • Experience working in a Local Authority

  • Experience with HHSRS

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Risk assessment and management

  • Compliance and due diligence

  • Knowledge of electrical compliance

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday
