Job description
We are currently working with a reputable Not for Profit organisation based in Manchester, who are recruiting for a Housing Support Worker on a temporary three-month contract. The role has the potential to go permanent. The position is due to start immediately, and the hours of work are full time. The hourly rate of pay is up to £19.00 umbrella for the right candidate.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with young clients who have left the Care system or you have a background working with children who are Asylum Seekers/Refugees.
A car is essential, as is an up-to-date Enhanced DBS.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Working in semi-supported living projects for leaving care, aged 16-18 years old
- Advising tenants on a breach of tenancy
- Offering welfare and benefit advice to clients to help maximise their income
- Handling low level ASB complaints in a diligent manner
- Carrying out support plans and risk assessments effectively
- Handling rent arrears and offering welfare & benefit advice
- Assisting clients to find suitable move on accommodation
Experience required:
- Experience working in Supported Housing
- Understanding of how to help clients to sustain their tenancies
Working hours:
- 37 hours per week
- Some hybrid working
- Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm - Flexible working
