Job description
Our client, based in East London, is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor on a 3-month temporary contract.
The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience for this position.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Assist with the management of contracts, ensuring compliance and timely execution
Supervise contractors and coordinate the work of multiple trades to ensure smooth project delivery
Manage a delegated budget, overseeing costs and ensuring financial controls are met
Conduct surveys to diagnose issues and determine necessary remedial actions
Carry out site visits to monitor work progress and ensure alignment with expectations
Prepare technical reports, detailed specifications, and scheme design drawings
Implement quality control measures, including post-inspections, to ensure high standards of work
Manage the diagnosis, specification, ordering, completion, and payment of works
Scrutinise and authorise variations and invoices to ensure proper financial management and accountability
Undertake feasibility studies, option appraisals, and budget estimates to support decision-making and project planning
Experience required:
Proven experience in surveying or a similar role within the built environment
Overseeing and delivering work schemes, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope
Developing and implementing work plans to meet targets and stay within budget
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Organise, plan, and deliver the surveying work plan.
Manage financial and contractual controls.
Use initiative and manage workloads effectively.
Update, monitor, and analyse data.
