Our client, based in Greater Manchester, is currently recruiting for a locum Senior Property Solicitor until the end of the year (December 2026).

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis, and the hourly rate is negotiable depending on candidate experience & expectations (circa £55 - £60 p/hour via an Umbrella company).

The role can be conducted remotely, but any successful candidates will need to attend to collect their equipment. 

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Leading and managing a varied caseload of complex property matters, including strategic development projects, site assembly, and regeneration scheme
• Advising on and progressing land acquisitions and disposals, ensuring transactions are completed efficiently and in compliance with local authority governance and statutory requirements
• Conducting and supervising standard local authority conveyancing transactions, including leases, licences, easements, wayleaves, and title investigations
• Providing high-level legal advice to internal stakeholders (including property, planning and regeneration teams), supporting key corporate objectives and managing risk effectively

Experience required:

• Experience required in Local Government
• Significant experience dealing with complex commercial property matters
• Experience dealing with development matters and projects
• Qualified Solicitor with significant PQE, will also consider CILEx qualified candidates

Working hours:

• 35 hours per week
• Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm
