Job description

We are delighted to be representing a university, based in London, who are looking to appoint a temporary Governance Officer on an initial three-month contract.

This position is due to start immediately on either a full-time basis, with hybrid working (need to work on-site once every three weeks) and the hourly rate is negotiable based on experience.

 

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Performing secretarial duties and providing expert Governance assistance to Committees, Subsidiaries Boards and other Internal Boards

  • Directing Governance schemes and implementing policies that support operative and up-to-date decision-making across the university

  • Supporting the Head of Governance and Legal Services with administrative tasks and record-keeping

  • Advancing agenda arrangement, organisation of papers and conscripting precise minutes of meetings

Experience required:

  • Servicing committees at all stages, including programme setting, paper calls, paper production, pack organisation and minute taking

  • Supporting committee chairs accordingly, ideally in the Higher Education Sector

  • Supervising the production and presentation of yearly timetables of business for committees

 

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Arranging reports in Word and creating agenda packs using Adobe Acrobat

  • Time administration skills, including the capability to manage a quantity of opposing urgencies

  • Written and verbal communication capabilities as well as writing precise records and minutes from meetings

  • Conscripting guidance papers on governance necessities, procedures and values as well as consulting stakeholders on them

  • Explaining complicated information clearly, briefly, and convincingly

 

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday
