Are you an enthusiastic health & safety specialistwho has a passion for supporting businesses to ensure safety processes and procedures are in place, to minimise risk in the workplace?
James Andrews are proud to be partnering with a leading international manufacturer specialising in high-specification industrial and precision manufacturing of their products, who are in the market for an experienced InterimHealth & Safety Manager on a six-monthtemporary contract.
This will be a full-time position based in Lancashire, with hybrid working offered alongside a competitive daily/hourly rate of pay which is negotiable
The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of the UK HSE regulatory framework PUWER, alongside a background working across the manufacturing sector with guarded machinery.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Supporting HSE for the business by carrying out project-based work
- Carrying out a project and driving it through, reviewing all regulations on manufacturing machines, guarding and completing PUWER assessments
- Ensuring all the production manufacturing machinery is all brought in line with the PUWER framework regulations
- Ensuring all working procedures are in place with how machinery needs to be operated
- Bringing the following up to regulation; manual lathes, slotting machines, broaches, hobbing devices and machines with rotating parts
- Bringing actionable proposals forward for the improvements, modifications and replacement required for the machinery
- Produce reports and review spreadsheets in relation to machinery
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- Excellent understanding of the UK HSE regulatory framework PUWER (The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998)
- Experienced in working across project-based work to oversee health and safety policies, procedures and processes to ensure they are in line with regulations
- NEBOSH and IOSH qualified
Working hours:
- 30-37 per week, Monday to Friday between 7am/8am to 3pm/4pm
- 4 day weeks will be considered, Monday to Thursday
