Job description
Our client, based in the Midlands, is currently recruiting for a Compliance Professional on a six to eight week temporary contract.
The role is available for an immediate start on a full-time basis, offering a day rate of £300 via an umbrella company.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property or housing compliance, with a solid understanding of regulatory requirements, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while engaging effectively with contractors, tenants, and internal stakeholders.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Undertaking landlord compliance checks across gas, electrical, fire, and water safety to ensure all council housing stock meets statutory and regulatory obligations
Managing and monitoring landlord compliance programmes, ensuring all properties remain fully compliant and that any overdue inspections or remedial actions are addressed promptly
Coordinating contractors and arranging tenant access for inspections, servicing, and remedial works, while maintaining clear and effective communication with residents and internal stakeholders
Maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date compliance records, including validating key certification such as gas safety certificates, EICRs, and fire risk assessments
Identifying compliance risks or failures and taking timely, proportionate corrective action to safeguard tenant safety and ensure adherence to legislation and council policies
Exercising strong administrative discipline and excellent attention to detail when recording data, monitoring actions, and managing compliance evidence
Undertaking regular site‑based checks to verify the accuracy of compliance information, inspect work completed by contractors, and ensure that standards are being met operationally
Experience required:
Previous experience working within a compliance-focused role in social housing, property management, or a related environment
Strong understanding of UK landlord compliance obligations and relevant safety regulations (gas, electrical, fire, and water hygiene)
Experience managing multiple workstreams or programmes, with the ability to prioritise and ensure deadlines are consistently met
Confident stakeholder management skills, with experience working alongside contractors, residents, and internal teams
High level of accuracy and organisation when handling documentation, with the ability to assess risk and respond appropriately
Working hours:
37 hours per week, Monday - Friday
Hybrid - three days on site, two at home
