Job description
We are currently partnering with a Housing Association, who are recruiting for a Clerk of Works to join their growing team on a 10 month fixed term contract.
This is a full-time position with a salary band of £40,000 - £45,000 per annum plus a £1,800 car allowance and the start date is subject to notice.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Provide site inspection services for the Capital Investment programmes, as assigned
- Inspect construction work to ensure that contractors and subcontractors comply with contract documentation, delivering high-quality work in a safe manner
- Issue instructions within the scope of the contract process and budget, ensuring all instructions are fully documented and communicated to project managers
- Oversee the quality and handover of completed works, as assigned by the Quality Manager
- Collaborate with Project Managers and other delivery managers to review specifications, plans, and contract documents, ensuring alignment with the Group’s Design Brief, Employer’s Requirements, and/or JCT Contract documentation, while identifying any potential issues
- Provide recommendations for works or proposals that do not align with plans, specifications, or other documentation
Experience required:
- HND/C level qualified & SMSTS or equivalent relevant professional qualification or qualified by experience
- Valid/Relevant CSCS card
- Experience of providing a customer-focused, high-quality service
- Experienced and qualified property maintenance professional
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate clearly
- Solution focused, ability to create innovative solutions
- Organised and methodical approach to work

- 37 hours per week
- Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
