Job description
A leading Wealth Management firm based in the West Midlands is seeking a Technical Trainer to join their expanding team on a permanent basis in a newly created role.
This full‑time role offers a competitive salary of £55,000-£60,000, 2 days home working, and the chance to design, create and deliver a suite of training packages.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Delivering high‑quality, engaging technical training on core financial planning topics including pensions, investments, protection, taxation and estate planning
Leading induction training for new advisers, trainee advisers and paraplanners, ensuring full understanding of advice processes and regulatory expectations.
Designing and updating training materials such as presentations, guidance notes, case studies, eLearning modules and assessments
Ensuring all training content is accurate, compliant and aligned with FCA regulations, suitability standards and internal policies
Acting as a subject matter expert for financial planning concepts, tax legislation, FCA rules and technical product knowledge
Monitoring regulatory changes and provide insights to the wider business on impacts to advice processes
Partnering with T&C, Risk, Advice Quality and Root Cause Analysis teams to identify learning needs and close technical knowledge gaps
Delivering remedial or targeted training following audit findings, regulatory feedback or identified performance issues
Assessing learner progress through tests, role plays, case studies and live observations, providing structured, developmental feedback
Experience/Qualifications required:
Qualified to Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (DipPFS) or equivalent
Deep technical expertise across core financial planning disciplines, including pensions, investments, protection and taxation
Proven track record in delivering high‑quality training and coaching within regulated financial services environments
Strong presentation and communication skills, with experience engaging audiences through virtual, digital and in‑person delivery
Skilled in designing effective, learner‑centred training programmes tailored to varying levels of knowledge and experience
Comprehensive understanding of FCA regulations, suitability requirements and end‑to‑end advice processes
Talent for translating complex technical concepts into clear, practical and accessible learning content
