Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Charity based in Birmingham, who are recruiting for a Support and Outreach Worker on a temporary 10-week contract. This is a full-time position due to start immediately, working 35 hours per week. The hourly rate of pay is negotiable up to £15.40 via an Umbrella Company.

The ideal candidate will have and Enhanced DBS certificate dated within the last three years, and be registered to the online update service. They will be able to travel around the Birmingham area and have proven experience working with clients who have complex needs.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Pro-actively working with others to enable them to increase their income

  • Undertaking outreach, ensuring regular and appropriate contact with customers is built and sustained

  • Actively recruit and induct venders by promoting the organisation

  • Supporting a caseload of clients to remove poverty barriers that they face, and integrating them back into the community

  • Working across key areas with clients – housing, citizenship, financial, digital inclusion, wellbeing, education, training and employment

  • Ensuring all health and safety protocols are met and further action is taken when necessary

Experience required:

  • Working with clients who are at risk of being financially vulnerable

  • Supporting clients with housing needs and assisting them in re-entering society

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Knowledge of health and safety protocols

  • Understanding of the housing benefits system and how to assist clients with their finances

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm (flexible hours available)
