Job description

Our client, based in Coventry, is currently recruiting for a Service Manager on a permanent contract.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis, working Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm and the salary is £32,000 per annum.

The ideal candidate must have worked with vulnerable people, led a team and developed a culture of creativity and innovation to deliver an outstanding support service. The successful candidate must have access to a vehicle and be willing to have a new Enhanced DBS carried out.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Responsible for the overall day-to-day management of a service supporting homeless adults over 25 who are living in temporary accommodation

  • Providing staff management to three Support Workers and four Concierge staff

  • Assisting the Head of Service with the full running of the service when needed

  • Helping deliver a fast-paced support service to vulnerable people in the community

  • Completing staff appraisals, improving morale and quality of work and monitoring KPIs to ensure service delivery

  • Assessing customers' benefit entitlements in complex cases and assisting them in liaising with relevant agencies to claim and receive payments

Experience required:

  • Managing services for vulnerable people  

  • Understanding of housing management functions such as health and safety in properties and arrears management

  • Handling safeguarding issues, referrals etc

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle

  • Ability to lead, manage and motivate staff and vulnerable people

  • Ability to problem solve, and explore solution focused methods to solve issues

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Working hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week

  • Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm
