Job description

Our client, based in Hertfordshire, is currently recruiting for a Senior Surveyor on a permanent contract.

The position is due to start subject to notice on a full-time basis. With the salary for this position being £64,101 per annum working 1-2 days from home.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of consistent service delivery, meeting and exceeding performance targets and social housing experience.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Ensure the rolling programme of Stock Condition Surveys (SCS) on homes is completed in line with organisational procedures, increasing the proportion of physical surveys and reducing reliance on cloned data across the housing stock

  • Identify potential risks and challenges associated with surveying projects, and develop and implement effective mitigation strategies to support successful project delivery

  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of survey data through the implementation of robust quality control measures

  • Ensure all surveying activities comply with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards

  • Support the resolution of legal issues arising from identified building defects and related claims

  • Lead and manage the team to deliver an excellent technical service, providing strong support to enhance technical expertise, contract management skills, and other relevant competencies, while encouraging and supporting the achievement of professional qualifications where appropriate

  • Provide technical guidance and advice to the Property Services team as required

Experience required:

  • Experience of working with tenants, contractors, agencies and other stakeholders and delivering customer focused services

  • Project management

  • Staff Management

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Ability to understand and explain complex problems and to give clear and accurate advice Financial management and budgeting

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence

  • Able to manage and delegate resources effectively
