Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority based in North Nottinghamshire, who are recruiting for a Senior HR Change Manager on a 12 month fixed term contract. The position is due to start immediately, the salary is £60,000 - £65,000 and the hiring manager is open to receiving candidates who look for a day rate too.

 

The ideal candidate will a proven track record solely dealing with Change and OD Projects, preferably for a public sector organisation. The role requires overseeing operational model and organisational design changes, with a focus on minimising disruption to business processes, working alongside the Head of Service for the department being reviewed.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Work with Head of Service to review, design, and refine role profiles and organisational structures, providing recommendations and improvement opportunities aligned to corporate principles and future operating models

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive change management plans aligned to organisational design outcomes, including communications, training, stakeholder engagement, and reinforcement activities to support successful transformation

  • Conduct structured change impact and readiness analyses to assess people, process, and capability impacts, identifying risks and mitigation actions to ensure the organisation is prepared for change

  • Engage and influence stakeholders, proactively identifying and addressing resistance through targeted communication, coaching, and change interventions to enable adoption

  • Support the implementation of operating model and organisational design changes, ensuring alignment with business strategy while minimising disruption to critical business operations

  • Monitor adoption and effectiveness of change initiatives, providing guidance, feedback, and continuous improvement recommendations to embed new ways of working and ensure long-term sustainability

 

Experience required:

  • Previous experience working on sole projects surrounding Organisation Design and Change

  • Public sector experience desirable

 

Working hours:

  • 37.5 hours - Hybrid working offered
