Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in South Wales, who are recruiting for a Senior Building Surveyor on a permanent basis (They will also consider temporary members of staff for this role). The position is due to start immediately. The salary for the role is £45,547 per annum, and offers a four-day working week!

The ideal candidate will have experience working on large scale projects in a social housing setting, including component replacement and complex repairs, have a degree of equivalent in a Surveying discipline, and have access to their own vehicle.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Taking the lead on tender documents for component renewal, refurbishment works and defect investigations
  • Overseeing boundary disputes, land encroachment, party wall matters and statutory disputes
  • Reviewing and validating stock condition data relating to stock condition data
  • Ensuring funding is targeted where needed to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Providing cost advice for proposed investment works and carry out ongoing reviews of maintenance costs
  • Undertaking specific building defect investigations and instructing remedial works
  • Investigating complaints in line with company procedure

Experience required:

  • Experience required in Social Housing
  • Experience with complex surveying
  • An understanding of party wall disputes
  • Experience in contractor procurement

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Project Management
  • Contractor Management
  • Component replacement knowledge
