Job description
Our client, based in Hampshire, is currently recruiting for a Repairs Surveyor on a 3 month temporary contract.
The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The hourly rate is up to £35 per hour via an umbrella company.
The ideal candidate will have experience of identifying, diagnosing, and managing cases of damp, mould and condensation housing stock. The successful candidate will help ensure homes are safe, healthy and compliant with current housing standards and legislation.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Conduct pre‑, mid‑ and post‑inspection surveys of council properties to identify repair needs, focusing on issues related to damp, mould, condensation and other building defects
- Diagnose root causes of damp and mould problems, using moisture readings and building pathology knowledge
- Evaluate heating, ventilation, insulation and fabric conditions to assess environmental contributors to damp and mould growth
- Produce clear, professional technical reports outlining survey findings, recommended remedial actions, cost estimates and proposed specifications
- Prepare detailed schedules of works and ensure reports are fit for internal use, contractor briefing and legal compliance
- Specify remedial works and manage the delivery of repairs through internal teams and external contractors
- Monitor quality and timeliness of contractor works, ensuring compliance with specifications, legislation and safety standards
Experience required:
- Damp & Mould experience essential
- Worked in a similar role previously, ideally in a social housing setting
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- Technical knowledge of building construction and maintenance practices
- Strong communication skills for interacting with tenants and contractors
- Ability to manage repairs in compliance with Health and Safety regulations

- Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm
