Job description

We are currently partnering with a Housing Association, who are recruiting for a Repairs Surveyor located in West Yorkshire to join their growing team on a nine month fixed term contract.

This is a full-time position offering a salary in the region of £40,000 per annum.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Conducting detailed surveys and inspections of housing stock to assess condition, structural integrity, and compliance with safety standards
  • Developing and managing planned maintenance programmes to ensure properties remain safe, functional, and compliant with statutory requirements
  • Identifying defects, prioritising repairs, and coordinating remedial works with contractors to ensure high-quality, cost-effective outcomes
  • Communicating clearly with tenants about inspections, repair schedules, and maintenance works, addressing concerns to promote satisfaction
  • Maintaining accurate records of inspections, completed works, and future maintenance needs using sector-specific software and systems

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, or a related discipline (RICS accreditation desirable)
  • Previous experience in property surveying, ideally within the UK social housing sector
  • Strong understanding of building regulations, compliance standards, and maintenance practices relevant to residential properties
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with tenants, contractors, and housing teams to deliver safe, well-maintained homes
  • Familiarity with housing management systems and standard office software
  • Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel across housing stock
  • Enhanced DBS clearance may be required due to regular tenant contact

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm
