We are currently working in partnership with a local Council based in Essex, who are recruiting for a Housing Register Assessment Officer on a 3-month fixed term contract with opportunity to go permanent.

The position is due to start on notice. The salary is circa £35,168 dependent on experience for the role.

The ideal candidate will experience in rehousing understanding of housing allocation legislation.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Determining eligibility of residents homes based on various different criteria, including income, existing benefits, financial support etc.
• Evaluating if applicants qualify for different priority bands based on overcrowding or lacking necessary facilities
• Requesting and managing essential documents
• Maintaining clear communication with applicants, providing updates and requesting additional information
• Applying and adhering to housing allocation policies in line with local legislation

Experience required:

• Housing allocation legislation
• Ability to understand welfare benefits and housing priority bands

Working hours:

• 37 hours
• Monday – Friday
• 9am-5pm
