Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a local Council based in Essex, who are recruiting for a Housing Register Assessment Officer on a 3-month fixed term contract with opportunity to go permanent.
The position is due to start on notice. The salary is circa £35,168 dependent on experience for the role.
The ideal candidate will experience in rehousing understanding of housing allocation legislation.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Determining eligibility of residents homes based on various different criteria, including income, existing benefits, financial support etc.
- Evaluating if applicants qualify for different priority bands based on overcrowding or lacking necessary facilities
- Requesting and managing essential documents
- Maintaining clear communication with applicants, providing updates and requesting additional information
- Applying and adhering to housing allocation policies in line with local legislation
Experience required:
- Housing allocation legislation
- Ability to understand welfare benefits and housing priority bands
Rewards and Benefits:
- 1-2 days in the office a week
Working hours:
- 37 hours
- Monday – Friday
- 9am-5pm
