Job description

We are currently partnering with a Housing Association based in South East London, who are recruiting for a Repairs Supervisor to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is a full-time position with a salary of £45,000 with the start date subject to notice. A basic DBS, Clean UK Driving license and NVQ Level 2 qualification is required for this role.

This is a hybrid role, where the successful candidate can work from home 1 day of the week.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Manage directly employed trade operatives, ensuring high levels of productivity, adherence to health & safety standards, quality of work, and the delivery of exceptional, customer-focused service.
  • Assist the Repairs Service Manager in delivering an exceptional repairs and maintenance service to residents in South London, ensuring a seamless experience
  • Collaborate with Repairs Schedulers to ensure the appropriate operative is assigned to each task, optimizing the deployment of resources and providing ongoing support to the operatives throughout the process
  • Promote a customer-first approach across all service delivery, ensuring repairs meet resident expectations by being completed on time, to high-quality standards, and within budget—while also maintaining a focus on staff safety, empowerment, and motivation
  • Conduct pre- and post-inspections to assess both the quality and efficiency of repairs, ensuring full compliance with policies, procedures, and relevant regulations
  • Perform on-site inspections of completed repairs, ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. Address and resolve any complaints related to operatives or job performance, managing issues to a satisfactory conclusion

Experience required:

  • Significant experience of working at a supervisory/line management level
  • Experience of delivering a reactive repairs service through directly employed operatives
  • Experience in working with mobile technology

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Excellent communication, planning and organisation skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet tight targets
  • Trade background qualified to C&G or NVQ level 2 or Built Environment HNC level
  • Good knowledge of building maintenance especially in a social housing environment

Working hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday
  • Hybrid Working – 1 day per week from home
