Job description

We are proud to be partnering with a Sussex based local council, who are looking to appoint a Prevention Outreach Officer on a 3-month contract.

This will be a full-time position, with hybrid working (3 days home working) and a negotiable hourly rate.

The ideal candidate will have experience with using Home Connections and will have previously worked with asylum seekers and refugees.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Assessing clients at the hotel obtaining relevant documentation
  • Identifying the most appropriate pathways, facilitating referrals and move on
  • Identifying support needs and liaising with partner agencies to meet these needs
  • Supporting clients with resettlement into permanent accommodation
  • Delivering monthly workshops at the hotel

Experience required:

  • Previous experience supporting Asylum seekers

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Safeguarding awareness
  • Clear communication
  • Knowledge of asylum seekers‘ rights and entitlements
  • Problem solving and initiative
