Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Social Housing Provider in Bristol who are recruiting for a Planned Works Surveyor on a 12-month fixed term contract.

The role is offering a salary of up to £39,000 per annum plus a car allowance. This likely to become a permanent position in the long term.

The ideal candidate will have experience overseeing multiple work streams, overseeing contractors and working to tight time frames.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Surveying social housing properties to identify repair, maintenance, and improvement need
  • Planning and coordinating multiple work streams across planned maintenance and capital programmes
  • Developing detailed schedules of works for cyclical, planned, and major refurbishment projects
  • Preparing specifications, tender documents, and scope of works for contractors
  • Monitoring contractor performance and ensuring works are completed to quality and safety standards
  • Liaising with internal teams, including housing officers and repairs teams, to deliver projects efficiently
  • Managing budgets, resources, and timescales for multiple planned works programmes
  • Assessing health and safety risks and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and council policies
  • Inspecting properties during and post-works to confirm standards and identify remedial actions
  • Providing technical guidance and advice on complex repairs and planned maintenance projects
  • Recording inspections, works progress, and outcomes accurately within housing and asset management systems
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in planned works processes and delivery

Experience/Qualifications required:

  • Experience overseeing multiple planned work streams
  • Experience liaising with tenants in a friendly manner

Working hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • 08:30 - 16:00
  • Monday - Friday, Flexible Start/Finish Times
