Job description
Our client, based in South East London, is currently recruiting for a Multi-Trade Operative on a permanent contract.
The position is due to start as soon as possible on a full-time basis, working 42.5 hours per week. The Salary for the role is up to £38,000 per annum.
The ideal candidate will have an NVQ Level 2 or City and Guilds Level 2 in their respective trade.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
• Carry out installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems including pipes, taps, toilets, sinks, and water heaters
• Diagnose plumbing faults and perform timely repairs to minimize disruption for tenants
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and water industry standards
• Undertake patch repair to plaster by hacking off defective plaster and renew including all preparation and joints to existing surfaces
• Perform general carpentry tasks such as repairing doors, windows, locks, and frames
• Carry out furniture assembly and minor joinery works
• Provide routine maintenance and repairs across other trades as needed (e.g., tiling, plastering, painting)
• Maintain accurate records of work carried out, materials used, and time spent on jobs
• Communicate effectively with tenants, colleagues, and supervisors to coordinate repairs and ensure tenant satisfaction
Experience required:
• Experience required in Social Housing
• Experience working with customers within housing
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
• NVQ or City & Guilds level 2 (or equivalent) in their respective trade
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislations
