Job description

Our client, based in East London, is currently looking for Management Accountant to join their team on a three months interim contract. Our client is proud to be one of London’s top performing further education colleges.

The position is due to start immediately and on a full-time basis including 35 hours per week. The postholder will also be required to be on site four days per week and onsite parking will be provided.

The role will be paying a negotiable day rate and the post-holder will be required to have an enhanced DBS within the last three years. If you do not have one, the client will take one out for you.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Business partnering with budget holders across the site with budget values totaling £38million

  • Preparing the monthly management accounts and reports for the departments

  • Co-ordinating and preparing all financial reporting across the organisation including actual budgets and forecasts

  • Analysing all variance analysis between budget and total expenditure

  • Preparing journals, recording the accruals and prepayments, and dealing with month end reporting up to trial balance

  • Supporting the Senior Management Accountant and the Finance Director to deliver a consolidated five-year financial strategy, ensuring the consolidated budgets were aligned to the financial strategy

  • Developing and maintaining a timely and accurate reporting consisting of key metrics, including income and expenditure, balance sheet, cash flow and KPIs

Experience required:

  • Part-qualified Accountant or qualified by experience

  • Background working in the Education or Public sector

  • Experience in preparing management accounts and dealing with high value budgets
