Job description
We are currently seeking a HR Manager to join a global company based in Derbyshire to support with HR matters for their UK employees. The role is based in their Derbyshire office with travel to sites in the UK required roughly 1-2 times per month as and when needed. This is a full-time position, paying up to £55,000 per annum for the right person.
This role will suit someone who can confidently deal with end-to-end people matters autonomously and who is experienced in providing operational HR support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing hands‑on, day‑to‑day HR support across the full employee lifecycle, acting as a trusted partner to operational leaders across multiple UK sites
- Delivering high‑quality advice, coaching and guidance on all employee‑relations matters, managing cases confidently and consistently
- Leading recruitment and onboarding activities to ensure a smooth, effective hiring process and positive new‑starter experience
- Maintaining accurate HR data, producing reports and supporting decision‑making through effective tracking and insight
- Driving culture, engagement and continuous‑improvement initiatives, fostering a positive and inclusive working environment
- Supporting change‑management and HR project work, including policy updates and improvements to HR processes
About You:
- CIPD Level 5 minimum ideally with demonstrated HR advisory experience across a broad range of HR areas
- Proven HR generalist background gained in a manufacturing, engineering, logistics or similarly hands‑on, fast‑paced environment
- Demonstrated experience in coaching and supporting managers to handle complex people matters effectively
- Strong, up‑to‑date knowledge of UK employment law and established HR best practice.
- Confidence and independence in managing complex ER cases, ensuring fair, timely and legally robust outcomes
- Experience supporting multiple sites or a dispersed workforce, including navigating legacy challenges and varied workplace cultures
- Ability to build strong, credible relationships at all levels-from shop‑floor colleagues to senior leadership
- Comfort working autonomously, prioritising effectively, exercising sound judgement, and adapting quickly to changing demands
