Job description

We are currently recruiting for a local authority based in Surrey, for a Litigation Lawyer on a 3-month temporary contract.

The position is due to start immediately on a part-time basis (20 hours per week). The hourly rate is negotiable but likely to be around £50-55 p/h via an umbrella company.

The ideal candidate will have experience in housing litigation and prosecution as well as access their own vehicle.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing a caseload of housing litigation cases, up to and including prosecution stage

  • Leading on two major cases in January, requiring a court presence

  • Preparing settlement agreements, court orders, and procedural correspondence

  • Working alongside two ASB officers

  • Evaluating settlement options and negotiating resolutions

Skills and experience required:

  • Experience required in Housing Litigation

  • Experience working cases in the prosecution stages

Working hours:

  • 20 hours per week – they are ideally looking for someone to attend the office on Thursdays, but the rest of the hours can be completed any other day (within working hours)
