Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in Cambridgeshire, who are recruiting for a Housing Officer on a temporary two-month contract.
The position is due to start immediately on a part-time basis working 17.5 hours per week. The hourly rate of pay is up to £21.00 via an Umbrella company, this could be negotiable depending on experience.
The ideal candidate will have used the QL system previously, have a basic DBS certificate, or be happy to have one carried out, drive and have access to their own vehicle.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Managing a patch of 200 properties across the Cambridgeshire region
Carrying out regular tenancy visits, providing tenancy advice and liaising with other teams including repairs departments when required
Dealing with medium to low level cases of ASB, mediating between residents when required
Monitoring tenants rent accounts and chasing tenants rent arrears
Helping customers to put together affordable repayment plans to avoid arrears arising
Signposting customers to additional support providers and external agencies
Dealing with general estate and tenancy management to ensure that local areas remain tidy
Attending court for escalated cases – however this experience is not essential
Mediate situations with tenants and take witness statements, trying to deescalate at every opportunity
Experience required:
Carrying out the full duties of a generic housing office: including tenancy management, ASB and rents
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Confidently managing a patch of properties
Financial management and budgeting
