Job description
Our client, a social housing provider based in Bath, is currently recruiting for a Governance Manager on a 12 month fixed-term contract.
The position is due to start in the New Year on a full-time basis, and they are looking for someone to attend office minimum of once p/week. The salary on offer is circa £50,000 per annum.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years governance experience in a regulated environment, and experience providing executive and secretariat support at board level.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Acting as a key point of contact for Board and Committee members
Managing and developing the Governance Assistant and the Executive Assistant(s), fostering a culture of high standards, accountability and continuous improvement, ensuring that the Board and Committees are properly serviced
Preparing reports on governance and other matters as requested by the Assistant Director of Governance and the General Counsel & Group Company Secretary
Acting as Secretary to key governance forums, including the Combined Board and/or subsidiary boards, and Committees of the Board, ensuring timely, accurate and well-structured papers and minutes
Leading on the coordination and delivery of the Group's annual ESG report, and otherwise for corporate reporting (such as the Modern Slavery Statement)
Taking responsibility for all corporate registers and Governance-related policy and processes (including training for colleagues re the same), ensuring they are up-to-date and fit for purpose
Experience required:
Experience required in a regulated environment
Sound understanding of company secretarial and governance practices, with strong drafting and minute-taking skills
Excellent communication skills, including listening and questioning and an ability to summarise

37.5 hours per week
Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm
