Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a public sector organisation in the West Midlands, who are recruiting for a Fraud and Investigations Manager within their Legal and Governance Directorate.

 

This is a full-time (36.5 hours) position on an initial 3-month temporary basis, offering circa £400 per day, inside IR35 via an Umbrella company.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience leading complex fraud investigations within the public or regulated sectors, a sound understanding of relevant legislation, and a track record of delivering effective anti-fraud strategies and frameworks.

 

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Designing and embedding a robust framework to identify, prevent, and respond to fraud and misconduct across the organisation
  • Leading and coordinating investigations into allegations of fraud, corruption, or whistleblowing concerns, ensuring cases are managed to a high professional standard
  • Developing proactive initiatives to reduce fraud risk, including the use of data analysis and risk-based reviews
  • Reviewing and updating key policies, procedures, and guidance to reflect changes in legislation and best practice
  • Producing clear and concise reports for senior leaders, audit committees, and external bodies on identified risks, investigations, and outcomes
  • Delivering awareness sessions and training programmes to promote an anti-fraud culture and build organisational resilience

 

Experience required:

  • Proven experience managing or leading fraud investigations in a public sector or regulatory setting
  • Strong working knowledge of the Fraud Act 2006, Bribery Act 2010, and whistleblowing frameworks

 

Working hours:

  • 36.5 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday
