Job description

Our client, based in the East Midlands, is currently recruiting for a Complaints Assistant (Repairs) on a 3-month temporary contract.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The hourly rate is £15-£16 per hour on an Umbrella basis.

The ideal candidate will have experience of dealing with complaints within social housing and hold a full UK Driving License.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing support to tackle an increase and backlog in complaints made by residents, predominantly regarding repairs and maintenance issues

  • Dealing with predominantly Stage 1 complaints, investigating causes and co-ordinating responses effectively

  • Accurately logging all complaints and raising these accordingly

  • Producing written response letters to complaints

  • Updating and communicating with all complainants throughout the process of complaints investigations

  • Ensuring all complaints are handled in line with the Housing Ombudsman code of practice

  • Drafting responses and providing informative information and facts to senior staff in order to make final decisions and sign offs

Experience required:

  • Experience required in Social Housing

  • Experience working with customers within housing

  • Experience dealing with Stage 1 complaints and investigating causes

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Organisation skills

  • Knowledge of the Housing Ombudsman code of practice

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday (9am-5pm or 8am to 4pm)
