Job description
We are currently recruiting for a Northamptonshire-based local authority, for a Civil Litigation Lawyer.
This is a temporary role for 2-3 months (ongoing), full time hours, paying around £55 p/h via an umbrella company.
The ideal candidate will be fully qualified and have similar experience working for a local authority.
Court attendance is required but you’re only needed in the office once per week (which you can link in with your court days).
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Providing legal advice and representation on a variety of matters within the designated legal team to Members and Officers of the Council and their service areas
Conducting and managing a wide-ranging caseload of complex legal work in Litigation and preparing and drafting complex legal documents
Preparing instructions and briefs to Counsel/external legal advisors
To attend Licensing Committees and Sub-committees, to provide legal, procedural and constitutional advice as required
Experience required:
Local authority experience
Civil litigation experience
Fully qualified
Working hours:
37 hours per week
Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
