Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a renowned local authority who are committed to making a difference and seek to improve the quality of life and provide the best public services. They are currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor on a temporary contract for six months.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with a commercial property portfolio.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide professional Building Surveying services ensuring that the public building stock and residential garages, including leisure, commercial, community and park buildings etc. and all assets are repaired and maintained in a good state of repair and are fit for purpose.
  • Preparing drawings as required, schedule of works and specifications required for the delivering of improvement works, planned and reactive repairs on commercial and corporate council buildings
  • Coordinating the delivery of works with consultants
  • Providing detailed knowledge of building technology and construction including identifying diagnosing defects and repair solutions
  • Managing projects from inception to completion including the preparation of documents for quotation and tendering purposes, up to value approx. £100K
  • Liaising with internal teams to ensure coordination with other capital works programmes

Experience required:

  • Experience in carrying out diagnosis building defects
  • Knowledge of the use of NBS specifications
