Our client, based in Newport, is currently recruiting for an Accommodation Officer on a 3 months temporary contract.

The position is due to start in the next two weeks, and the hourly rate expected to be around £18.79 per hour via an Umbrella Company.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with client faced with homelessness, substance misuse or complex needs, and will hold a recent DBS with access to their own vehicle.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Supporting tenants placed in emergency housing to settle in and understand their rights and responsibilities
• Carrying out regular welfare checks and addressing any issues affecting tenancy sustainment
• Assisting tenants to access relevant services, including benefits, budgeting support, health and wellbeing services
• Working with housing providers, landlords and partner agencies to maintain safe, suitable accommodation
• Monitoring property standards, reporting repairs and ensuring health and safety compliance
• Keeping accurate records, updating case notes and following Local Authority procedures at all times

Experience required:

• Experience required in Social Housing or Supported Living

Benefits:

• Hybrid working - at least 1 day working from home per week after training period

Working hours:

• 37.5 hours per week
• Monday - Friday, 7.5 hours a day
