Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in the West Midlands, who are recruiting for a Tenancy Sustainment Worker on a 12-week temporary to permanent contract.

The position is due to start immediately. The hourly rate of pay is negotiable up to £17.50 per hour via an Umbrella company and on a permanent basis the salary would be £24,000 per annum.

The ideal candidate will have an Enhanced DBS certificate dated within the last three years, drive and have access to their own vehicle.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Visiting tenants living within their own homes, which are HMO properties of the organisation, across a patch of properties

  • Responsible for providing housing management support – including dealing with cases of ASB, tenancy breaches, health and safety and property inspections

  • Providing financial and benefit advice to tenants

  • Supporting customers with a move on service to learn to live independently in their homes

  • Helping customers register with the appropriate health welfare networks eg: GP, dentist

  • Guiding customers looking to employment and education opportunities

  • Managing customers rent accounts and collecting rent where required

Experience required:

  • Experience managing complex and difficult situations with vulnerable customers

  • Previous experience working to improve wellbeing and moving customers towards independent living

  • Experience liaising with a range of service providers

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Knowledge of delivering intensive housing management and health & safety across multiple sites

  • Ability to manage challenging situations and make decisions confidently

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

Working hours:

  • 37.00 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday working between 9am – 5pm
