Surveyor
Job description
We are currently partnering with a Housing Association in the West Midlands, who are recruiting for a Surveyor to join their growing team on a permanent basis.
This is a full-time position with a salary of £42,500 per annum with a £2,500 car allowance and the start date is subject to notice. The successful candidate must have experience of asset management within Social Housing and hold a full UK Driving Licence.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Overseeing and monitoring the inspection regime in place, ensuring that properties are regularly inspected, defects noted; specification of works are prepared, contractors and/or 3rd parties advised, and timescales are adhered to
Ensuring that escalation actions are taken to ensure the safety of residents; that properties are meeting the decent home standard and individual HHSRS risks
Project management duties - seeing construction projects through to completion; including engagement with statutory bodies (planning, building control, BSR)
Assisting in the maintenance and oversight of asset management data through accurate record keeping and the use of systems
Providing support, guidance, and advice to the compliance team whilst developing strong relationships across the organisation
Leading on asset related queries, providing guidance and taking actions to always ensure resident safety, working closely with compliance and housing officers
Experience required:
Experience in asset management within social housing, including inspections, defect identification, and compliance with Decent Homes and HHSRS standards
Strong surveying and project management skills, managing works specifications, contractors, and projects through to completion
Sound knowledge of resident safety and compliance, with the ability to escalate and manage property-related risks
Ability to work collaboratively across teams, providing clear guidance to compliance, housing, and internal stakeholders
Competence in asset data management and strategic decision-making, supporting investment, divestment, and long-term asset planning
Working hours:
37 hours per week
Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm
