Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a Social Housing Provider, who are recruiting for a Stock Condition Surveyor on a temporary three-month contract, covering a patch of Walsall and Northampton. The position is due to start immediately and is offering a daily rate of between £280 - £300 on an umbrella basis.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience carrying out stock condition surveys for a social housing provider or local authority and hold a full UK Driving Licence.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Carrying out comprehensive stock condition surveys across residential properties to assess the overall condition of structural elements and internal components
- Inspecting roofs, walls, windows, doors and communal areas to identify defects, deterioration and potential health and safety risks
- Assessing the condition and remaining lifecycle of key components including kitchens, bathrooms, heating systems and external works to inform planned maintenance programmes
- Recording accurate and robust data using handheld devices and asset management systems to maintain reliable stock condition information for future investment planning
- Identifying and reporting compliance concerns including fire safety risks, asbestos and hazards in line with the Housing Health and Safety Rating System
- Producing detailed survey reports outlining findings, recommended remedial works and budget cost estimates to support long-term asset management and capital investment programmes
Experience required:
- Previous experience carrying out stock condition surveys within a social housing provider or local authority
- Strong understanding of building components, common defects and HHSRS hazard identification
- Experience inspecting internal and external elements including kitchens, bathrooms, roofs, windows, doors and communal areas
- Confident using handheld devices or PDA systems to record accurate survey data and upload photographic evidence
- Ability to identify compliance concerns such as fire safety risks, asbestos and structural deterioration, and report findings clearly
Working hours:
- 36.25 hours per week
- Monday - Friday
