Our client, based in the Midlands, is currently recruiting for a Licensing Lawyer on a temporarycontract for, initially for six months with potential for extension.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis, and will offer fully remote working. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience of the successful candidate for this position.

The ideal candidate will have experience within the Local Government sector, most specifically within licensing matters.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

• Handling a varied licensing caseload including Private Hire, Taxi Licenses and Premises
• Advising and advocating at both internal mini-committees, full committees and Courts
• Drafting summons, indictments, case summaries and disclosure requests
• Attending Magistrates Court, committees and meetings including dealing with the Court lists and Private Hire Taxi Appeal hearings

Experience required:

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive
• Experience within Local Authority setting
• Experience in licensing matters

Working hours:

• 37 hours per week
