Job description

We are proud to be collaborating with a respected provider within the social housing sector in the West Midlands, who are looking for a Senior Project Surveyor on six month temporary contracts.

This will be a full time position based in the West Midlands, the majority of the role will be out on patch. The daily rate is £350 to £400 per day via an umbrella company.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in Social Housing and have led a team of Surveyor's in their previous role.

 Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing, motivating, and leading the surveying team to deliver the organisation's stock condition survey programme across the social housing portfolio in line with set criteria
  • Organising and allocating team resources effectively to meet changing business and customer needs while overseeing in-house and external surveyor development through guidance, coaching, and support
  • Supervising the efficiency, quality, and accuracy of all stock condition surveying activities, conducting audits, identifying non-compliances, and implementing corrective actions
  • Leading and delivering training and one-to-one on-site sessions with surveyors and service providers to address skills gaps, promote continuous improvement, and maintain consistency in survey standards
  • Managing and risk assessing hazards identified under the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and Safeguarding, ensuring appropriate actions are taken and reported

Experience required:

  • Proven experience managing, motivating, and leading surveying teams to deliver large-scale stock condition survey programmes across social housing portfolios, ensuring compliance with defined standards and organisational objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organise, and allocate team resources effectively in response to changing business and customer needs, with experience in mentoring, coaching, and developing both in-house and external surveyors
  • Strong background in supervising stock condition survey operations, with experience conducting quality audits, identifying data inconsistencies or non-compliances, and implementing corrective actions to maintain data integrity
  • Skilled in delivering surveyor training, workshops, and on-site one-to-one sessions to address skills gaps, support professional development, and promote continuous improvement in survey quality and methodology
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience in managing and risk-assessing hazards under the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and Safeguarding frameworks, ensuring timely reporting and appropriate remedial action

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday
