Job description
Our client, based in Dorset, is currently recruiting for a Housing Options Manager on a 15 month contract. The role will be hybrid and 35 hours per week.
The position is due to start within the next few weeks and will be a full-time position. The salary is £64,000 but they are also happy to consider candidates on a day rate of £300 - £350 per day umbrella.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing busy homeless services, whilst also managing the allocations service.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Delivering a proactive, preventative, customer focused professional Housing Options service
- Leading on the resolution of complex, sensitive and contentious cases and service policy & process
- Assisting in developing the Homelessness Strategy
- Managing inhouse floating support services
- Leading the Council's Allocations Policy, managing the Housing Register and lettings functions
- Assisting in developing a temporary accommodation and lead the Councils Housing Support strategy
- Leading on the implementation and procurement of required rehousing options
- Managing temporary and emergency in-house provision effectively
- Monitoring and ensuring operational implementation of the housing delivery programmes
Experience required:
- Qualification in Housing or be able to demonstrate significant equivalent knowledge, skills and experience in homelessness, housing options and wider housing policy issues
- In-depth knowledge of homeless legislation and good practice, housing policy and practice, tenancy management and housing pathways
- Detailed knowledge of the strategic housing issues to be addressed
