Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in South East London, who are recruiting for a Repairs Surveyor on a temporary 3-month contract.

The position is due to start immediately. The hourly rate of pay is negotiable from £27-£30 per hour via an Umbrella company.

The ideal candidate will have several years of previous repairs surveyor experience with Housing associations or local government organisations.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing repairs and maintenance contracts, providing technical knowledge, support, and guidance to the repairs team

  • Overseeing repairs operative including recruitment, development, and work allocation

  • Conducting pre and post inspection of day-to-day repair works, void inspections, subcontractor supervision and identified defects

  • Raising monthly reports on repairs

  • Ensuring properties comply with Planning, Buildings and Health & Safety regulations, FRA and statutory legal requirement

  • Processing invoices from contractors and authorising variations

  • Effectively monitoring all disrepair cases, ensuring all works are carried out as per schedule of defects

  • Managing the effective delivery of the repairs and maintenance day to day service to residents

Experience required:

  • Experience required in Social Housing

  • Several years experience in Maintenance/ Repairs Surveyor Positions

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Risk assessment and management

  • Administration and budgeting

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
