Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Not for Profit based in Macclesfield, who are recruiting for a Procurement Officer on a permanent contract.

The position is due to start in April and offers a salary of £33,000. This will be a hybrid position with two days per week working from home and other benefits include 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) and up to 12% employer pension contribution.

The ideal candidate will have a background in both public and private sector procurement and possess strong commercial and negotiation skills. A working knowledge of PCR2015 and PA23 is highly desirable but not essential.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Building strong relationships with suppliers and evaluating supplier performance

  • Setting up and managing tenders, including negotiating pricing, terms and volumes

  • Managing procurement budgets and analysing financial implications of purchases

  • Maintaining adherence to regulations such as Procurement Regulations 2015 and Procurement Act 2023

  • Collaborating with various stakeholders to align procurement with business goals

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Understanding of PCR 2015 and PA23 is desirable

  • Public and Private sector procurement experience

  • Strong communicator with good commercial and negotiation skills
