Job description

We're seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to provide interim support on a 2 month temporary contract till the end of the year. The role is a full time role (35 hours pw), will be based in Cannock (hybrid working available) and is due to start as soon as possible.

 

You'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and accurate delivery of monthly payroll for approximately 300 employees.

 

You'll be joining a friendly and supportive team who've recently added some administrative support, and you'll take ownership of payroll delivery through to sign-off in December.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process for approximately 300 employees using iTrent
  • Ensure all payroll data, adjustments, and submissions are completed accurately and on time
  • Process statutory payments, deductions, and adjustments (SSP, SMP, pensions, etc.)
  • Liaise with HR and Finance to ensure data integrity and compliance
  • Prepare payroll reports for approval and audit
  • Support with any payroll queries and provide a high standard of customer service

 

About You:

  • Proven experience in payroll processing, ideally within an education or public sector setting
  • Strong working knowledge of iTrent is desirable
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach
