Job description
We currently have a vacancy for an Outreach Support Worker based in East Anglia on a temporary (6-week contract), temporary to permanent or straight permanent contract. The hourly rate is negotiable up to £15.32 hourly via an umbrella company and the annual salary is £22,318.00.
The ideal candidate will have experience in Social Housing, an enhanced DBS dated within the last 1-2 years and access to a vehicle.
The duties of the role include:
Providing attentive and tailored support to residents in the transition from homelessness with complex needs – including substance misuse and mental health
Interviewing residents and forming assessments of their needs and requirements
Offering holistic advice on tenancy sustainment and greater independence
Communicating effectively with residents via translation services where English is not their first language
Liaising with external agencies and signposting residents when additional support is required
Completing all required paperwork and maintaining comprehensive electronic information records on the support plans, tenancy agreements and housing management records
Helping customers with applications including housing benefit and universal credit
Ensuring rent, service charges and other monies owed to the organisation are collected
Liaising with repairs teams as appropriate to ensure works are carried out within an appropriate timeframe
Assisting residents to move in a positive and planned way into permanent accommodation when they are ready to live more independently
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Social Housing experience required
Working hours:
37.5 hours a week
Monday – Friday
9:00am – 5:00pm (flexible)
