Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a reputable housing association based in South Yorkshire, who are recruiting for a Neighbourhood Officer on a permanent basis or Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2025.

The position is due to start immediately with the annual salary for the role being £33,545 per annum.

The ideal candidate will have a basic DBS certificate dated within the last 3 years, drive and have access to their own vehicle, with proven experience working as a Housing Officer.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Delivering an effective housing management service, including tenancy management, supporting residents to sustain their tenancy

  • Taking enforcement action when there are tenancy breaches

  • Supporting the delivery of an effective income collection

  • Conducting viewings, sign ups and other site visits as and when required

  • Supporting in providing an effective void, repairs and maintenance service

  • Overseeing cases of Anti-Social Behaviour from start to finish – investigating and resolving any issues

  • Forming detailed records and keeping systems up to date at all times

Experience required:

  • Experience required working in a front-line Housing Officer position

  • Experience working with vulnerable residents

  • Experience managing all aspects of tenancy management

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Knowledge of current housing legislation and regulations

  • Expertise in the tenancy start up process

  • Ability to manage own diary alongside a large case load
