Job description

Our client, based in Newport, is currently recruiting for a Move On-Worker on a 5 month temporary contract.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The hourly rate is £20.89 umbrella based on experience. The role will involve a car and a recent DBS.

The ideal candidate will have

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Supporting individuals with complex housing needs who have been given temporary accommodation and now need extra support to move-on into their own accommodation
  • Working with clients to understand their individual needs and create tailored housing support plans
  • Enabling clients to bid on, and maintain accommodation by developing independent living skills where possible
  • Supporting individuals to maximise their income where possible via universal credit, housing benefits or finding employment
  • Using knowledge of the Housing and Wales Act 2014 to determine priority needs
  • Liaising with specialist support providers and homelessness charities to prevent homelessness where possible
  • Sign-posting queries to relevant external agencies such as Social Services, Police and Homeless Charities
  • Acting as first point of contact for clients within the temporary accommodation, helping to ensure accommodations are in good condition, reporting any repairs and arranging maintenance
  • Completing and maintaining up to date paperwork, including risk assessments, and files for each client

 

Experience required:

  • Worked with those in temporary accomodation or homelessness
  • Experience working with vulenrable clients

 

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Able to understand legality of serving notices
  • Able to turn around void properties quickly
  • Able to travel around a dispersed patch in Somerset

  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm
