Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association, who are looking to appoint a Major Works Surveyor on a Permanent Contract.

This will be a full-time position based in North London, with hybrid working and a salary of £68,309 per annum.

The ideal candidate will have experience of project managing remedial works and ideally worked in a social housing setting with an understanding of legislations

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Effectively and professionally deliver Latent Defect Projects, with a focus on cladding and fire safety
  • Support and monitor the day-to-day operations of remediation projects
  • Assist in leading project programmes, ensuring deadlines and goals are met
  • Coordinate technical aspects of the projects to ensure quality and compliance
  • Manage multiple projects, ensuring progress and milestones are achieved
  • Liaise with stakeholders and maintain clear communication throughout
  • Oversee procurement and manage contracts to ensure project needs are met
  • Monitor compliance with regulations, safety standards, and quality control
  • Collaborate with the team and contribute to regular project reporting
  • Support team development and provide leadership where needed

Experience required:

  • Experience in overseeing multi-disciplinary consultants for complex construction or remediation projects
  • Experience managing cladding remediation projects and major refurbishment works from inception to completion

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Demonstrated expertise in contract administration duties in complex projects from a building surveying background and have a strong understanding of regulatory and building safety requirements
  • Understanding of cladding systems, fire safety standards, and building regulations for residential accommodation

Working hours:

  • 36 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm
