Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a charity based in North West London, who are recruiting for x2 Specialist BME IDVA’s on a 12 month fixed-term contract.  One position is due to start ASAP and the other is due to start at the beginning of January.  The salary for these roles is £28,000.

The ideal candidate will have worked in the trauma informed industry for at least 2 years, have constructed detailed support plans and have good knowledge on harmful practices.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing specialist advocacy, casework, and crisis intervention for BAME women experiencing domestic abuse
  • Supporting survivors with social tenancies to maintain housing stability and prevent homelessness
  • Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners, attending MARACs, safeguarding meetings, and case conferences
  • Promoting awareness and good practice by delivering training to housing providers and representing AWRC in partnership forums
  • Maintaining accurate records and upholding safeguarding and organisational standards

Experience required:

  • X2 years working as an IDVA or with victims of domestic violence
  • Carrying out DASH risk assessments
  • Attending MARAC meetings

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Risk assessment and safety planning
  • Crisis intervention and case management
  • Advocacy and multi-agency collaboration
  • Trauma-informed and culturally competent practice
  • Strong communication, documentation, and professional boundaries

Working hours:
