Job description

We are currently partnering with a progressive public sector body that is looking to appoint an experienced HR Business Partner on a full-time, 6-Months contract, with an hourly rate of £33.

This is a hybrid role, with flexible working arrangements and occasional presence required at offices based in the West Midlands.

 

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide strategic, solution-focused HR Business Partnering to designated business teams, aligning HR initiatives with organisational objectives and business plans

  • Guide and coach Senior HR Advisers, ensuring consistent and effective delivery of advice on all employment-related matters

  • Build and maintain strong, enabling relationships with senior stakeholders, proactively supporting business needs and challenges

  • Drive and deliver key projects aligned to the People and Culture Strategy, embedding organisational development and continuous improvement

  • Oversee complex employee relations casework including grievance, discipline, absence, and performance management

  • Lead on workforce planning and HR policy development to support a proactive and responsive people strategy

  • Analyse and interpret people data to provide insight-driven recommendations to executive and leadership teams

  • Support and advise on organisational change including restructures and TUPE processes, ensuring best practice and legal compliance

  • Represent the HR function in cross-functional initiatives with departments such as Finance, Procurement, and OD&E

  • Prepare and deliver reports to senior stakeholders, including unions, to support decision-making and strategy alignment

 

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner in a complex, preferably unionised, organisation

  • Extensive knowledge of UK employment law and proven track record of managing complex ER cases from investigation to resolution

  • Strong coaching skills with experience developing line manager capability

  • Experience supporting organisational change, including restructures and TUPE transfers

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
