Our client, based in Hertfordshire, is currently recruiting for a Housing Options & Advice Officer on a 3-month temporary contract.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis and is a HYBRID ROLE. The hourly rate is £31.65 p/h via an Umbrella Company

The ideal candidate will have experience working within social housing, and an exceptional knowledge of the legislation surrounding homelessness reduction.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Managing a caseload of around 60 clients

• Overseeing initial applications

• Providing housing advice and carrying out 184s decisions regarding eligibility and suitability for temporary/ emergency accommodation

• Interviewing clients who are either homeless or at threat of becoming homeless, both in the office, in public or in their own homes

• Arrange and secure suitable accommodation for homeless people in often very challenging circumstances

Skills, knowledge and experience required:

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Good organisational and time management skills

• Experience making section 184 decisions and creating PHPs

• Ability to resolve conflict effectively, assertively explaining solutions to reach a desirable outcome

Working hours:

• 37.5 hours per week

• Monday - Friday 09:00 to 17:00
